We Can Turn Your Dogs Fur into Yarn!

Dog's Fur that can be made into yarn include all long-haired undercoated breeds, like Samoyeds, Chow Chows, Golden Retrievers, Newfoundlands, Kuvasz, Keeshonds, Afghans, Bernese, Great Pyrenees, Pekingese, Briards, bearded and rough Collies . Huskies and Malamutes spin well if the undercoat is long enough. If it’s a shorter coat, it will need to be blended with a longer fiber to ensure that the wool remains intact.”  (Keep in mind that each strand of hair should be at least one-and-one-half inches long.)  Longer fibers spin better, which helps produce a stronger yarn.

How to harvest your own dogs fur:

You will need to send us at least 4.5 ounces of your dogs fur to make at least 1 ball of yarn.
